Today I went to the local market to buy Starry, the new Pepsico lemon-lime soda. I was charged to “get something for dinner,” as long I was going, which is a bit like determining who you are and why you exist. Uncooked chicken wings were available, at $4.49/lb for drums and $5.49/lb for flats. (If you’re reading this internationally, a pound (lb) is like a double-stuff kilogram.) I asked for 2 lbs of chicken-wing flats. But the deli guy asked, “How many is that?” And I didn’t know. He’s the one with the scale. So I said, “Uhhh, how about 24?” Which turned out to be 3.22 lbs of chicken-wing flats. Some people like drums, but those people have problems. I’m sorry if you’re one of them.
